In collaboration with the Exposure 2012 Photography Festival The Weiss Gallery is delighted to exhibit new work by acclaimed photographer Michael Levin.

MIchael Levin has a passion for unique and innovative photography, raw talent for artistic creation, and a knack for capturing riveting images. 

Our solo exhibition component for Exposure 2012 will feature Vancouver-based Michael Levin’s photography. Levin’s photographs both captivate and awe through their beautiful simplicity; Black & White prints of minimal and curious forms, both natural and architectural, dazzle and transfix. Writer Barry Dumka has written that Levin “ pulls his world taught, so what remains in the landscape feels essential and revealed”. Levin, an award-winning photographer, manipulating light and scale with his well-honed eye “uses his own pure sensibility to arrange the view”, giving the seemingly insignificant and mundane the exceptional qualities of “weight and timelessness”. Not to mention he does this in such a way as the viewer now has many more questions about the images captured - the mystery of their locale, scale and creation often front and center.

Levin’s patience, dedication, and endurance within his craft has resulted in both perfectly balanced and refined works of international acclaim and distinction. These new works by Levin expand on the artist’s signature style featuring recent travels and new imagery.
